Horizon Europe programme

Horizon Europe is the European Union Framework Programme for Research and Innovation for the period 2021-2027. Horizon Europe thus follows the Horizon 2020 programme, which ends at the end of 2020.

The overall objectives of Horizon Europe are to:

Strengthening the Union's scientific and technological bases;

Stimulate its competitiveness, including its industry;

Realising the Union's strategic political priorities;

Contribute to addressing global issues, including sustainable development goals.

The aim of the programme is to anchor research and innovation more deeply and concretely in a context marked by societal and European challenges.

The Horizon Europe Framework Programme is based on four pillars:

Science of Excellence

This pillar will support basic research projects through the European Research Council and the funding of exchanges and fellowships for researchers under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions. Finally, it will support networking, access and development in research infrastructures.

Global issues and European industrial competitiveness

This pillar aims to support work and research related to societal issues, such as, among others, health, an inclusive, creative and secure society, digital, industry, food, bio-economy and natural resources. The Joint Research Centre is also included in this pillar.

More innovative Europe

This pillar provides for the creation of a European Innovation Council to support innovation at national and local levels. It also responds to the need to organise European innovation ecosystems.

Expanding participation and strengthening the European research area

The latter is a cross-cutting pillar, which will underpin the overall framework programme. It will support activities that will help attract talent, encourage its circulation and prevent the exodus of skills outside the European Union. This pillar will also focus on a more innovative Europe that respects gender equality and encourages transnational cooperation.

The enhancement of the Human and Social Sciences, a unique characteristic, unique to the PUI CY Transfer.

In its strategy, the PUI CY Transfer has a special interest in the Human and Social Sciences: it is on its territory the operator of their socio-economic development. The PUI CY Transfer links SHS researchers to the concrete needs of local actors. Work on societal issues – whether social innovation, education, urban dynamics or digital transformation – is echoed in partnerships with communities, businesses and associations.

The mission of SHS is to ensure that the knowledge and expertise produced within the university is fully exploited to meet contemporary challenges.

The meeting app between researchers and innovators !

With Konekti, you have an application (web and mobile) for matching, which allows you to connect the laboratory staff of PII establishments (researchers, engineers, etc.) with the industrialists.

The objective: a simpler and faster contact between the academic world and companies.
