PRIC + CIFRE: a 2027 novelty for businesses

Are you a company and planning to conduct an R&D project with a research laboratory? You may be interested in ANR's PRCE system, especially if your project involves the recruitment of a PhD student in CIFRE.

The PRIC (Collaborative Research Project – Enterprise) is a proposed financing mechanism under theNational Research Agency (NRA). It aims to support research projects carried out jointly by research organisations and companies.

The aim is to bring together academic and economic actors around a common scientific and technological project: to develop new knowledge, lift a scientific or technological lock, experiment, prototype or prepare an innovation.

A novelty to remember for 2027

ForAAPG 2027, a development is particularly interesting for companies wishing to integrate PhD student in CIFRE to their project.

Where the undertaking provides, as soon as the detailed NCEP proposal is tabled, the recruitment of a PhD student in CIFRE, it can declare this need directly in the project.

If the NCE project is selected by the ANR, The ANRT does not carry out a second scientific evaluation of the CIFRE dossier. The PRCE scientific assessment thus serves as the basis for the CIFRE application.

This evolution makes it possible to envisage a genuine partnership between:

  • Company, with its R&D needs and industrial issues;
  • The laboratory, with its scientific expertise and research capabilities;
  • The PhD student CIFREwhich contributes to the development of research work at the heart of the project.

Interesting mounting to strengthen RD capabilities

For an enterprise, the reconciliation between PRIC and CIFRE can be an opportunity to structure collaboration with a laboratory while developing its research and innovation capabilities.

The CIFRE PhD also enables the company to train a future expert on a strategic issue, as close as possible to its scientific and technological issues.

Note: This does not mean that the allocation of CIFRE is automatic. Eligibility conditions and procedures with ANRT remain necessary. The novelty concerns the abolition of the second scientific assessment when the recruitment of the PhD candidate CIFRE was integrated into the NCEC project as soon as it was submitted.
