In July 2023, CY Cergy Paris University, via CY Transfer has been labeled University Innovation Pole (POI), on behalf of CY Alliance and in collaboration with 3 founding members: CNRS, Cerema and SATT ERGANEO. Funded under the France 2030 programme, the POI The aim is to accelerate the territorial dynamics of innovation, from partner research to enterprise creation, particularly through Deeptech start-ups. The first Executive Committee of the POI of the CY Transfer to be held on Tuesday, 9 January 2024.
CY Transfer, an engine of the innovation ecosystem in Île-de-France
The University Innovation Pole of which is part CY Transfer is composed of universities, site alliances and economic partners of the territory. It is intended to be a driving force for innovation ecosystems in the North-West region of Île-de-France, in the territory of Cergy-Pontoise.
By building on its strengths and its multidisciplinary research potential, the CY Transfer is to accelerate the innovation dynamics of this territory so that it becomes a recognized ecosystem that is essential for researchers, students, companies and funders.
The University Innovation Pole includes structures of excellence, including 27 laboratories including 10 RMUs CNRS, 1 MRL Cerema, and 7 technology platforms. The latter focus their research on topics related to the Human and Social Sciences, based on impact. They aim to develop and disseminate sustainable solutions to the most urgent societal challenges through the dynamics of student entrepreneurship, innovation venues (incubators, technology platforms, major instruments, etc.), PIA programmes (I-SITE and Excellence), entrepreneurship support tools (Start-up Studio ESSEC, CIREX, CY Undertaking). The POI is also supported by the student incubator ESSEC Ventures, which accompanies more than 150 start-ups a year and a fabric of companies positioned on strategic lines.
It implements coordinated actions, ranging from training to the development and exploration of enterprises to the support of projects, in order to meet the expectations of innovators and users: researchers and companies.
University Innovation: an agile and effective strategy driven by CY Transfer
The strategy of the University Innovation Centre supported by CY Transfer and its partners are based on 5 pillars of action through agile and effective governance.
CY Transfer and its partners were labeled as part of a seed phase. They will be financed up to EUR 2.5 million.
More than 54 innovation players (Communitys of Agglomeration, Departmental Council, Ile-de-France region, economic development agencies of Val d'Oise, trade unions, competitiveness poles, incubators, SMEs, major groups, major multidisciplinary instrument and research laboratory (Synchrotron Soleil), centres of national expertise at the service of forensics and judicial intelligence (PJGN – Judicial Centre of the Gendarmerie Nationale, and, the National Service of the Scientific Police))) are partners of this POI, in a territory mainly centered on the Val d'Oise and the Yvelines initially with national, European and international aims.
