This Wednesday, March 13 afternoon, took place the academic final of the Geosciences and Biology Olympiads for the Versailles Academy at the International Research House of CY Cergy Paris University.
This is a contest to develop the taste of science.
The six high schools of the winners received one Model designed and carried out by the U-Maker Innovation Platform and a book on Vexin geology written by members of the GEC laboratory.
A conference by Dominique Frizon de Lamotte gave the opportunity to raise awareness of the « Operation Vexin » and to distribute the brochure designed for this purpose
The Olympiads were established in 2008 and are intended to:
- developing a new scientific culture
- stress the close link between geosciences, other disciplines and diverse professions
- stimulating the initiative and the taste of research among students
